Civil War Photo 10in x 12in Framed of Volunteer Soldiers from the 8th Vermont all are identified E.M.Brown, John L. Barstow, Stephen Thomas, Fred Smith and C. Dillingham. The two of note are Barstow and Stephen Thomas. Thomas was appointed by Butler as the Col. Of the 8th and actuality made Brigadier General leading the 8th in battles in Louisiana. The 8th fought at the Battle of Bayou Licks. I cannot find who the commander was at the time. Barstow served As Captain under Thomas and was later a Major thru the rest of the Civil War. He Also was elected Governor of Vermont. All 5 mens signatures are on the photo
