Civil War U.S. Military Issued Percussion Musket Manufactured by the Providence Tool Company military contract in Providence, R.I. Total quantity Made was 70,000. the lock plate is marked U.S. with the Eagle motif and the Providence Tool Co./Providence R.I. markings. The lock plate is dated 1864. The stock is cut back to 4in ahead of the 2nd ring. The steel tulip ramrod is present But may have an early tip repair. The action is strong, both sling rings are present, The barrel is rough, rear sight is missing. Excellent patina and great walnut stock with deep and dark patina. Overall length is 56in with a 40in barrel. A contract Musket from the Civil War which certainly saw action.
