Elegant German Double bbl. Flintlock Fowling Gun, circa 1780, 31” octagon to round bbls. are signed in inlaid silver by P. Schumann in Rosenberg, cheek pieces on both sides of the butt stock have carved deer/stags behind and floral carving ahead, cheek pieces have large ornate brass inlays, floral carving around bbl. tang and carved “Beavertails” at rear of lock plates, three ornate, open work brass ramrod pipes and sling swivels on buttstock and bbls., good reconversion to flint of fully functional round faced flintlocks, forearm has two replaced slivers of wood, very good condition as reconverted with minor wood restoration – 20 g. (.61 cal. Bbl’s)
