Description:

Indian Present to Indian baby, to beaded child purses were given to the first white child born in Union City, was the son of Isaiah W. Bennett, born in 1835 or 1836. The Indians had a large settlement at the time at the junction of Thest. Joseph and Coldwater rivers, just East of the present village, and traded with the white settlers.
